Barrel Share #169 - Rye Whiskey

This version of Thornæs Rye Whiskey is made from Danish organic rye and aged in our 125 liter Bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill Distillery in Kentucky. When distilled, the rye gives a deeper and more spicy New Make, which is often paired with barrels of white American oak. American oak is known for giving off extra sweetness and round notes of vanilla during maturation, and this suits the already spicy Rye Whiskey.

When you buy a cask share at Thornæs, you are automatically invited to Fadenes dag here at the distillery. Cask Day is a special day when we celebrate all the good whiskey that lies and matures in our casks. On the day there will be tastings and lots of extra info about the casks that are on the way and the whiskey that is ready to be enjoyed together.
